Alessandro Anthony Garofalo

Alessandro Anthony Garofalo at the age of 87, in Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on November 18, 2024 at 2:52 AM. Alessandro “Alex” was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to father Alessandro Garofalo and mother Anna Messina Garofalo, on January 5, 1937. 

Alex in his youth was an altar boy in their local church, and also spent time with activities at the Kingsley house, in East liberty along with boxing in the Golden gloves. He attended Peabody high school. Alex was very involved in his Italian heritage and community family, and a member of the Larimer Ave, Famiglia as he was to be later known as the “silk”. 

Alex began his family early in Pittsburgh before moving out West to Los Angeles, California. After many years as a husband and father working in the entertainment business, bartending and jazz clubs, moved to Las Vegas Nevada, where he called Home.

Alex A Garofalo is preceded in death by wife, Ida Moio Garofalo, daughters Angela A Garofalo, Debra Sgro and brother Pat Garofalo.

Alex A Garofalo is survived by sons, Alex, Nick and Gino Garofalo, daughter, Denise Hoover, stepdaughter, Angela Urgitano, along with numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Dad was extremely charismatic, everything he did was in his own unique way. He was passionate, funny, hard-working, loving, and a vengeance to stay clear of.

Our dad was our personal Superman and Jesse James at the same time. His ability to own a room was like no other, a voice, some say equal to Frank Sinatra. He was a storyteller that captures all within range and a smile that you just have to forgive. To taste a meal he had prepared for you, would actually take your breath away.

Dad cherished his lifelong friends and kept a special love for all his family. It is true that Dad was not the typical father, and looking back on his life, we can all now say,

“ That was a good thing”.

A Catholic Memorial Mass will be held at. St Bernardine of Siena
