Aurora V. Holzlohner, beloved wife, was sent to her eternal resting place on October 4, 2024, in Las Vegas NV. Aurora was born on October 20, 1950 in Alang-Alang, Leyte, The Philippines, to Francisco Penaranda and Alejandra (Varona) Penaranda. Aurora had 6 siblings all of whom predeceased her. She is survived by her husband, Robert Holzlohner. Aurora and Robert were married in 1981 in Japan, where Robert was stationed in the U.S. Navy. Subsequently, they lived in Texas, California and Hawaii. Aurora worked for many years in the Las Vegas casino industry, meeting many co-workers from The Philippines. Her favorite Filipino foods were bangus - a type of fish - and pinakbet - a type of stew. After working in the casino industry, Aurora "retired" to her home, keeping a meticulous household. She enjoyed watching, on TV, professional bowling - having bowled many years ago in Hawaii - "ghost" shows and various game shows. She was an excellent cook of all types of food, Filipino and American. She was a proud military supporter and a regular donor to the USO. She is greatly missed by her husband and those who were fortunate to know her.
