Betty Jane Billingham was nee Betty Jane Black September 6, 1936 to Beulah and
Robert Black in Lebanon, PA. She passed away on November 30, 2017. She graduated from Lebanon
High School in 1954 and from Marion College, Marion, VA in 1957. She taught violin to several students
in Lebanon, PA in the mid 50ʼs and played in the Greenville Community Symphony Orchestra from
1962 to 1965. She married Edward J. Billingham, Jr on June 8, 1958,and moved to State College, PA
with her husband. At Penn State she was a food tester at the University in State College, PA. She and
her husband moved to Greenville, PA in 1960 following her husbandʼs graduation from Penn State
University. They lived in Greenville, PA until May 1965 then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she
taught pre-rschool children for several years at Trinity Methodist Church while Ed taught at UNLV. She
and Ed enjoyed traveling and motorcycling widely about the United States. Both were very active at the
Lieburn Senior Center since it opened in 2003. Both had great affection for their pet cats. She passed
away at the age of 81 at Wentworth of Las Vegas, a memory care center. Betty is survived by her
husband, Ed, her sister Barbara Shirk in Holland, PA and neices, Elizabeth, Debra, and Martha . There will
be no services. Betty will be interned at Davis Memorial Park.
