David Joseph Nichols

David J. Nichols, 73, passed away at his home on March 3rd, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on September 2nd, 1950 to LaRue and Joan (Johnson) Nichols in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

David grew up in Fort Wayne, graduated from Bishop Lauers High School, attended Saint Francis College before enlisting and being honorably discharged from the U.S. National Guard and the Reserve of the U.S. Air Force in 75’. He later returned to complete his bachelor’s degree from Saint Francis College in ’90. He spent his career at the U.S. Postal Service of forty-four (44) years and retired as the Safety Manager of the Great Lakes Area in Carol Stream, Illinois.

David was known for being an amazing father, brother, and grandfather to those surviving him; daughters Stephanie Schriner and Lea Scrimager, sisters Linda White and Karen Nelm, and grandson Jameson C. Schriner. A celebration of life service (2:30pm) for loved ones and friends of David will be held at his Las Vegas home on Saturday April 6th, 2024.
