Gregory Niketa Harris Sr. 57, passed away on August 18, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gregory was born in West Memphis, AR to Daisey Jean Lemmons on December 15, 1964. He lived in Chicago IL until 1984 where he attended Senn High-school and Truman college. Later he moved to Michigan and lived there until 2011. He earned his CDL driving cross country several years. Afterwards he started his owned business as self-taught painter and carpenter. He was an exceptional handyman.
His final stop was the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas after 2 heart attacks and 3 open heart surgeries and as a heart transplant recipient. He vowed to not let his health condition dictate how he lived his life. Being on disability was not acceptable and he began his journey to live a life with no physical restrictions.
This is when he his love of golf landed him at one of the top golf courses in Las Vegas owned by Jack Nicklaus where he excelled with his huge, warm, humorous personality receiving an award naming him the "#1 Golf Starter" in Vegas. Wanting more from life joined WSB Financial Literacy Campaign where he became a Finance Professional dedicated to Financial Literacy where no family was left behind. His mission was to eradicate generational poverty. While fulfilling his mission he was self-employed with Uber and was named, "One of the top 10% most-highly praised drivers in the U.S."
Gregory is preceded in death by his mother. Gregory is survived by his 8 children, Bryan Harris, Gregory Harris Jr., Kiesha Harris, Nikia Harris, Kiara Harris, Kianna Harris, Takarra Harris and Dylan Chambliss. One brother Jemal Griggs, 2 sisters, Joyce Keller (Randy) and Audrey Smith (Mark). Two grandchildren, Isiah Harris and Giovanni Offord. Also, a hosts of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2pm pacific standard time, August 25th at Las Vegas Cremations, 5555 W. Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146
