John was a proud graduate of Bishop Gorman High School in 1973 and held various trade certificates throughout his successful 30+ year career with CCSD.John met his beloved wife Pamela Jo Mathison in 1987 through a friend and the two were married in Las Vegas in 1988.
Described as funny, smart, and a jack of all trades, John had a deep love for dogs. Beyond his professional life, he enjoyed skiing, hunting, and analyzing sports statistics in his free time.
He is survived by his sister: Corita DeWitt; daughters Carina Montano and Kelli Montano(David VonKrusze) ; Grand-Daughters Kayla, Krista, Alicia, and Arianna; as well as five great-grandchildren. John was also a beloved uncle and friend.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife; Pamela Jo Mathison; beloved sister Mary Holman; devoted brother-in-law, Gary DeWitt; caring father, Willard Mathison; and affectionate mother, Frances Mathison.
Throughout his life, John touched the hearts of many with his kindness, wit, and humor.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
