Born in Brooklyn and raised in Las Vegas, where he resided since 1962. Joe attended Bishop Gorman High School (class of 64) and college at NSU (now UNLV) where he played baseball and football. In 1968, Joe was on the first UNLV Football team. He was a charter member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at UNLV. Joe worked for 33 years at McCarran Airport for Western Air Lines and Delta Air Lines.
Married to Sandy Lupo for 52 years, he was a devoted husband and father. He had two daughters Gena Margason (son in law- Kevin) and Jody Lupo Masden (son in law- Aaron) and one grandson, Evan Joseph Margason. His family was his pride and joy. He was the patriarch in every sense of the word and always put his girls first. He loved keeping up with friends and whenever anyone needed something “he knew a guy.” Being an only child, his life long friends were his brothers. Everyone knew Joe was a sports person, but he a “people person” more. He never said, “No.” He enjoyed golfing and in retirement, pickle ball.
Proceeded in death by his parents Joseph Sr. and Anne Lupo, and son-in-law, Kevin.
We will miss his zest for life and charming stories. His smile and laugh could charm the coldest heart. The hole he left in our heart will be filled with the wonderful memories and stories shared by his friends and family.
