Misty Kay Turner
Loving Daughter, Mother, sister, and Grandmother
It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Misty Kay Turner in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 11, 2021 along with her son Andrew Dejuan White. Misty was born June 09, 1977 in Portland, Oregon to Jane E Wyman and Charles A Turner; she was 44 years old at the time of her death. Misty lived in a few places around Oregon before her family moved to Illinois to be closer to family. She spent a majority of her life from Middle school to most of her Adult life in Danville, Illinois. Misty graduated from Danville High School and was working on obtaining her associates degree because she was inspired by her daughter who earned her Bachelor degree by the time she was 21. She had knowledge beyond those years, She was the absolute best friend to all 3 of her children, amazing motherly instincts that blanketed those around her and was lovingly known as “Mama Misty” to many, and she had a giggle and a smile that could light the world. Misty loved being a grandmother, her biggest joy was time with her beautiful granddaughter Alivia. Misty loved her friends, and her happiness with them. The most amazing gift that Misty bestowed amongst those around her was her ability to navigate any situation allowing her to form close bonds with many, especially Sharika Brown and Alice Lewis. Misty's greatest passions in life were cooking, sharing her love for being a Mother and a Grandmother, spending time with her family, getting her nails done, and pampering herself with her daughter.
Misty passed away with her beloved youngest son Andrew D White and was preceded in death by her loving Mother Jane E Wyman, her treasured son Andre B White, Step-Father Thomas Liles, sister Dawn M Turner, and Brother Charles L Turner.
Misty is survived by her beautiful daughter Ashley White, Granddaughter Alivia White, Father Charles Turner, Her adoring cat Savannah, 2 dogs named Buddy and Bella that she inherited from her mother and step-father, Sisters: Esprit (Turner) Steward, Katie (Turner) Harris, and Julie (Errion) Wessles, Brothers: Jesse Turner, Shane May, Ty Turner, Marcel Turner, Mesol Turner, Kim Turner, Randy Philbrick, countless nieces and nephews that she loved and adored, and many close friendships she built throughout time.
The family would like to express how thankful we are for Takiyah Bailey most importantly for being a huge support to our precious Ashley, and for being an amazing mother to Misty’s Granddaughter Alivia. Misty and Andrew will live on through Alivia’s heart, soul, and radiant smile.
The family of Misty would like to express their gratitude with the generous community who donated towards her final arrangements, and the memories shared. Misty is at Davis Funeral home and a memorial service is to be announced. We would like to thank each and every individual who made Misty’s life amazing and contributed to her happiness.
