Passed 12/22/2017 from a heart attack while at work. Randy also struggled with Parkinson’s, which was starting to take over his body. It was a blessing he passed before it totally took him over. He left this earth very quickly, but his spirit lives on!
Randy was born to Pearl (Hoops) and Harold Hickle. He grew up on a farm near Hitchcock, SD with two siblings, Terry and LaVon Hickle. He attended grade school in Bonilla, SD and high school in Hitchcock, SD. He was proud to say he got his GED.
He helped his Dad with the farming until his teen years, then he worked for Eldon Anderson on his farm in Broadland, SD.
He joined the national guards in 1969 and retired in 1975.
He went to mechanic school in Fargo, ND in 1969.
He met and married Pat Murry in 1969 and together they had a little girl, Michelle. They later divorced.
He worked for Versheer Chevrolet in Huron, SD until opening his own shop, E&H Auto in Huron, SD, when his co-owner passed, he started briefly working for Pioneer Hybrids. He left there and reopened his own shop again in Huron. Randy’s Auto Repair was the hang out for all his buddies. A customer once asked him if he was Jesus, he laughed and said no, why? He said because you have so many followers!
He met Dawn Nelson Lemme in 1975, with his reunion he quickly became the Dad of Dawn’s 3 children, Jody, Heather, and Toby. They later married on 01/23/1982 and were still married at the time of his passing.
His greatest passion was racing cars at the Huron, miller and Madison SD race tracks! Since he met Dawn in 1975, He took the number 75 for his car! many good times were had by many during racing years. Many trophies and wins later he retired in 1987.
He closed his shop in 1987 and they moved to Sioux Falls, SD where he got a job with Kmart Automotive.
They live in SF until 1991 when Kmart transferred him to Faro, ND. While in Fargo, they bought Harley Davidson Motorcycles, they met and rode with many great friends. They took many road trips and even couple to Sturgis, SD. They also ran a DJ business called the Music and Karaoke Drs., which kept them busy every weekend.
Kmart closed their auto depts. and with the help of son-in-law Sean, they moved to Las Vegas, NV where he started working for Walmart in the automotive Dept. where he was working at the time of his passing.
They bought horse property in Las Vegas, NV and had many rescues (which was Dawn’s passion), but he loved them just as much. Dawn would come home with another animal and he would say, now what did you bring home?
having been grateful to part of his life are his wife, Dawn, Son Jody (Jan) Lemme, Daughter Heather (Sean) Evans, Daughter Michele (Scott) Tyge and Son Toby( Linda) Lemme.
Grandchildren, whom were the apples of his eyes, Meghan, Maddie, and Zach Evans. Richele and Tanner Lemme, Payton and Morgan Lemme and Kam Tyge.
Sister in Law, Paige (Al) Kruse, Bryant, SD and Brother in Law Sheldon (Bev) Nelson, Northborough, MA, many nieces and nephews.
Randy requested no services, so in lieu of flowers or memorials, gift cards from Jones Feed would greatly be appreciated to help feed the many recues that are left behind in Dawn’s care.
